No Texas loans
Due to the Texas Homestead Act of 1839 and the Texas Residential Construction Act that
states :
Section 416.001 of the Act, which provides that a "person may not act as a builder
unless the person holds a certificate of registration under this chapter."
Tex. Prop. Code Ann. § 416.001 (Vernon Supp. 2004).
BuildMax is no longer accepting applications from Texas clients. We are disappointed that
the state of Texas is the only state in America that makes it difficult for owners to
act as their own contractor.
No Investment or Spec projects
BuildMax cannot accept applications from individuals or companies seeking to use the
BuildMax program for investment purposes. This program is designed for owner-occupied
permanent residences only!
No Broker programs
BuildMax does not have a “wholesale broker program.” BuildMax is not a mortgage company and
we do not add points or origination fees to our clients’ loans. BuildMax offers a
“Referral Partnership Program” for individuals that refer clients to our program.
Through the program, BuildMax will pay a $500.00 referral commission to those
(individuals only) who refer a client that signs a BuildMax agreement and closes on a
construction loan.
